design challenge:  to create a portico that complements the home's dramatic sloping roof line, yet frames the handsome, curved front door, without removing the iron handrails, concrete landing and steps.

design solution:  The front door's radial curve was the inspiration for the eyebrow portico. The brackets were designed to be both decorative and provide structural support to cantilever the eyebrow from the home. The ribbed copper roof was added to provide further visual interest to the entry. The overall appearance of the home's front entry was dramatically changed.
